Educational Finances Services provides a professional consulting service to schools and colleges throughout Australia.  The company was established in 1989 and has a successful record in providing specialised services that assist schools, colleges and non government school systems in strategic planning, financial planning, facilities planning and management.

Educational Finance Services provides general advice and detailed reports to schools and school authorities.  This includes research, planning and preparation of applications and submissions, as well as representation on behalf of schools.  (See Professional Services)

PETER J HOLLETT - DIRECTOR

Peter Hollett established Educational Finance Services in 1989 and has more than 35 years experience in accounting and financial management.  In particular, for the past 30 years, Peter has gained specific experiencing in the planning, management, administration and assessment of independent schools.   He has been a foundation member of three independent schools and also as an adviser in the establishment of many schools and colleges.  Prior to establishing EFS, Peter gained an expertise in independent school planning and management by working in schools, serving on school boards and on many State and Federal education bodies and committees.

Peter's expertise is recognised by State Associations of Independent Schools and more particularly by the Australian Government Department of Education who seek Peter's advice on many issues relating to the management of and reporting by independent schools in Australia.

Over thirty (30) years' experience working with Schools and Colleges across the Independent and Catholic Sectors of Australia.

Extensive experience as a School Board Member of both day and boarding schools including Board Chair Experience.

Eleven (11) years working in independent schools as a Chief Financial Officer and Business Manager.

Twelve (12) years as Executive Member and two (2) years as President of the Association of School Business Administrators of Queensland (ASBAQ).

Ten (10) years as an Executive Member and three (3) years as National Chairman of the Association of School Business Administrators Limited (ASBA).

Five (5) years as a member of the Independent Schools of Queensland Block Grant Authority (ISQBGA) convening the Finance Committee.

Extensive knowledge of the complex policies and formulas that determine funding of independent schools.

Since 1989, founder proprietor and Director of Educational Finance Services Pty Ltd, consulting to many Schools, Colleges and Systems throughout Australia.

MICHAEL J MILLARD - Senior Consultant

Mike joined EFS in 2016 as a Senior Consultant.   Mike has extensive experience in education, including:

Nineteen (19) years as a Principal of two P-12 schools.

Nine (9) years in school governance as a Board Member of 3 Independent Schools and Chair of 2 of those schools.

Significant involvement with Indigenous education.

Member of the Uniting Church Schools and Residential Colleges Commission.

An assessor engaged by the Non-State Schools Accreditation Board working in both the Independent and Catholic School Sector for the past 4 years.

Member of the BGA Education and Building Committee from 2005 - 2016 including 2 years as Committee Chair.

Co-manager of the BER program and BER consultant for the BGA (2009 - 2010)

Member of the BGA Flying Start working party.

   

John Mason - Senior Consultant (Fellow-CPA Australia)

John joined EFS in 2009 as a Senior Consultant.

John's expertise in finance and management assists schools in financial assessment, budgeting and financial planning within the independent school and Catholic sectors.

John has over 30 years experience in accounting and business management.
John's previous position was as Director of Information Technology at Queensland Treasury where he was responsible for providing development, delivery and support of Information Technology to the 2,500 staff of Queensland Treasury.  
 

PETAH McLeod - OFFICE MANAGER

Petah joined EFS in 1994 and is responsible for facilitating the efficient functioning of our office through a range of administrative, IT, clerical and managerial tasks.

Petah has over 30 years experience in office administration and management.

Petah assists with the project management of Capital Funding Applications working closely with schools, architects and the Independent Schools of Queensland, Block Grant Authority.
